Welcome to Preservation Massachusetts
Your
Community, Your Commonwealth
Founded
in 1985, Preservation Massachusetts is the statewide non-profit
organization that actively promotes the preservation of historic buildings
and landscapes as a positive force for economic development and the retention
of community character.
Leading
the way for Massachusetts through:
- Legislative
Initiatives: We take our voice to Beacon and Capitol Hill as
we rally support for preservation legislation and incentives at the
state and federal levels. We are the force behind the Massachusetts
Historic Rehabilitation Tax Credit and commit ourselves to enhancing
this program for the benefit of projects and communities statewide.
- Reaching
out across our Commonwealth: Our statewide Circuit Rider program
places professionals "in the field" working directly with
communities facing preservation issues and projects. Our monthly
e-news brings you updates, information, events and what's going on across
Massachusetts.
- Educating
our Partners: From tax credit seminars and regional conferences
to traveling workshops, seminars and one on one advocacy support, PM
is dedicated to expanding the values and opportunities of preservation.
Programs such as our Massachusetts Most Endangered and Barn Task Force
help us collaborate with communities while our workshops, Consultants
Directory and reference network allows us avail our partners of our
array of resources.
- Building
Partnerships: As founder of the Massachusetts Preservation
Coalition, PM knows that preservation takes a village and there are
many players involved. Our successful partnership ventures bridge the
preservation, development, banking, business and other constituencies.
- Networking
and Events: PM hosts a premier preservation event in the state
each May that highlights the myriad ways preservation is embraced and
utilized across the Commonwealth.
